Why does music affect us the way it does? There is no escaping music in our society; it’s everywhere. Together we will discover how and why music has impacted our culture through the centuries. We will explore music’s history, its basic elements, and its power to alter entire societies.

This course is intended for intermediate-level guitarists. It builds on skills learned in Guitar I and presents more advanced techniques for improved acoustic guitar performance. Students must supply their own acoustic guitar. Prerequisites: MUSC 114-Guitar I, or permission of instructor. Student option grading
